WebJan 8, 2024 · Steps: Select the files you want to drag. Hold them with the left mouse button. Press Alt+Tab and select the window in which you want to paste/move. (Keep pressing Tab until you reach your desired window) Release Alt+Tab after reaching your destination window. Release the left mouse button to drop your files. And you are done! WebIn the recent releases of Ubuntu, desktop icon support has been re-enabled using an extension. The extension does not support drag and drop yet. There is a way to get drag and drop, but you will need to install another file manager. You can still use Nautilus as your main file manager, but the other file manager will handle the desktop icons.
